What you see

Scenes for one of the most popular and successful fantasy series ever have been filmed in various locations in three counties of Northern Ireland. Whilst it may not be possible to see all of these in a one day tour, we will endeavour to fit in as many of your favourites as possible.

Cushendun Caves + Murlough Bay

The quaint village of Cushendun is situated at the mouth of the River Dun. Just beyond are the 400 million year old caves, which form the background for the Stormlands. Here Melisandre gave birth to the 'Shadow Baby' that killed Renly Baratheon. They are a short walk from the car park and entrance is free.

An area of outstanding beauty, with views across to Rathlin Island and the Mull Of Kintyre,  Murlough Bay is one of the most remote and beautiful in Ireland. Known as Slaver's Bay in GOT, it is here that Tyrion and Ser Jorah are discovered and captured by slavers. Here also is the location of Davos Seaworth's post-Battle of Blackwater Bay shipwreck, and Theon's horse ride with Yara.

Larrybane Quarry, Ballintoy Harbour + Binevenagh

A chalk quarry until the 70's, the atmospheric Larrybane was the setting for Renly Baratheons camp in season 2, as well as Brienne's battle to join Renly's Kings Guard.
The spectacular coast walk from here brings you to  Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge

The little fishing harbour at Ballintoy features in series 2 when Theon Greyjoy returns home to Pyke to seek an alliance with Balon. It was here that Theon was baptized with his sister Yara looking on.

The stunning Antrim Plateau formed over 60 million years ago features as the Dothraki Grasslands in series 5.

The  Dark Hedges

The beautiful and atmospheric row of Beech trees between Armoy and Stranacum in County Antrim have been made famous by the role they play in GOT.

In season 2  they became the King's Road along which Arya and Glendry travelled while fleeing King's Landing.

As you see, there is a lot to see and do. Depending on your time available and how busy the attractions are, it is up to you to decide what you want to see, and we will make it fit if possible.
